compagnia-azzurra-schena Born in Bari in 1983, she began and completed her classical dance studies in Fasano, Puglia (Italy) with professor Silvia Humaila. At the age of 18 she made her debut in the role of Juliet with “Compagnia Nazionale del Balletto” directed by Giuseppe Carbone. She dances as a soloist in various companies such as “Balletto di Puglia”, “Balletto di Milano”, and in the corps de ballet of “Arena di Verona” and “Teatro Massimo di Palermo”. Over the years she dances in the most important Italian theaters, achieving critical and public success and collaborating with renowned choreographers such as Amedeo Amodio, Toni Candeloro, Luciano Cannito, Mauro Bigonzetti, Mauro Astolfi, Giorgio Mancini, Michele Pogliani, Gianluca Schiavoni. In April 2008 she took part in the gala “Stelle pugliesi nel mondo” organized by Daniele Cipriani at the “Teatro Kennedy” in Fasano. In 2004 she joined the Balletto di Roma company: since then, she danced solo and main roles in all the major productions of the company. Among these: Mario Piazza’s “Lo Schiaccianoci” in the role of Clara, with partners José Perez, Amilcar Moret Gonzalez and André De La Roche; “Giulietta e Romeo”, “Otello”, “Cenerentola” by Fabrizio Monteverde in the roles of Juliet, Emilia, Cinderella; “Lo Schiaccianoci” by Massimiliano Volpini, where she dances the role of Clara again. She is the protagonist of “Giulietta e Romeo” also in Balletto di Roma’s international tours (2011, China – 2018, Argentina). Since 2017 she has been one of the teachers of the Masterclasses for the “Balletto di Roma – Training on Tour” project and, starting from 2020, of the “CAP – Corso Avviamento Professionale”. In the 2019/2020 season she is Sancho Panza in “Io, Don Chisciotte” by Fabrizio Monteverde. On 3 October 2020, she receives the “Premio Nazionale Sfera D’Oro”, a prestigious award given to the most brilliant dancers on the Italian and international scene.
